Sidding

bh-01

Traditional yakisugi embodies the purest essence of this Japanese technique. Its textured finish, deeply cracked and organic, reveals the full power of fire. The surface features a rich, almost sculptural relief, where each plank becomes a unique piece. To the touch, the wood retains its characteristic raw texture, evoking a material that is both wild and controlled. Its intense black, dense and matte color, gives the cladding a strong and elegant presence.

Both authentic and timeless, traditional yakisugi is a bold choice for those seeking a raw, natural, and deeply marked aesthetic.

The process of burning and brushing reveals a unique natural variation on each board. Some areas reveal chocolate brown or roasted coffee highlights, while others plunge into a matte, almost velvety charcoal black. This creates a play of contrasts between lighter fibers and darker hollows. Depending on the light, the surface captures and reflects differently, giving life to the covering with nuances that evolve over time.

Burned and then brushed twice. Each plank features natural variations, creating an authentic and lively finish. It stands out with its relief appearance, deep nuances, and a smoother feel than traditional yakisugi. Ideal for modern or rustic architectural projects, it brings warmth, durability, and a strong visual signature, both indoors and outdoors.

Exterior siding requires fasteners made of stainless steel nails or screws. Cedar's high tannin content makes it more corrosive to standard fasteners. This ensures that no rust stains appear on the siding.
