What is it about?
Also called Shou Sugi Ban, yakisugi comes from a Japanese method used for centuries. This technique involves intensely burning the surface of the boards to achieve a heat treatment that creates a protective layer for the wood structure. This results in a durable and ecological cladding.
Yakisugi is as much a philosophy as a material. It embodies respect for nature, acceptance of time and the beauty of imperfection. Rather than seeking to freeze appearance, it evolves with elegance, creating architecture that is alive, sustainable and profoundly authentic.

For your style
BURNED WOOD CLADDING
For guaranteed quality
We begin by becoming familiar with your project. Whether it's for interior or exterior cladding, or any other ideas, it's necessary to thoroughly understand the details. This allows us to create the best possible product for your needs. Each order is unique and custom-made.
Once the project is well analyzed and discussed with the client, we proceed to procure the wood from our suppliers. The wood we use comes exclusively from Quebec.
Next, it's time for the fire to work its magic. Throughout the burning process, we ensure the correct temperature and char depth for effective heat treatment. This is the most important step, as it ensures the wood's dimensional stability and its legendary durability.
Then, we seal the surface. Depending on the finished product, we adapt the oils and dyes used. The boards are then left to dry for a few weeks, away from the sun and bad weather, to ensure proper curing. This way, they achieve their maximum protective power.
Finally, we are preparing the boards for delivery. They are carefully packaged for easy handling and to protect them during transport. On the way to your project!
